If there’s not a space for disabled gamers, we make one. If we don’t see accessibility in gaming, we advocate for it.

Who We Are

ES Gaming, powered by the nonprofit Easterseals, exists to create a new standard for equity, inclusion and access among all disabled gamers, and amplify disabled voices and accessible innovations to create a more inclusive space in an ever-evolving industry. We create this space by building an intentional community of gamers, disability advocates, and allies to connect through gaming and conversation.

Advocates and gamers of any skill level, age 16 or older, can participate.

Why We Launched ES Gaming

To ensure no one is excluded.

Gaming is not a niche hobby – it’s woven into our culture, with 74% of American households* having someone who is a gamer. At Easterseals, we believe that everyone must have access to culture and community.

To challenge inaccurate and outdated stigmas.

Disabled people play video games. While many in the community need accessibility standards to enjoy gaming, that does not mean their skills, enjoyment, or accomplishments are less than their nondisabled peers. When developers include accessibility in their games and products from the start, everyone can benefit. Inclusion should not and does not hinder the artistic vision of artists, creators, or developers in the industry.

To realize the benefits of gaming.

Gaming has many benefits *, including stimulating creativity, group-building, physical exercise, and relieving stress. They can teach language skills, problem solving, and foster emotional learning. For the disability community and beyond, gaming can also be a way to tackle isolation by staying connected with family and friends.
